HummingKeys help

🎤 Hum & sing

Open the 🎤 Hum tab and tap Start listening (or 🎤 HUM in the bottom bar, from any tab). Allow the microphone.

The tuner shows the note you're singing, its frequency, and whether you're flat or sharp in cents. "Key you're singing in" works out your key as you go.

Your voice is turned into notes and played on the selected instrument. Press Record to capture it on the sheet music. Snap keeps notes in the key, and Octave shifts them up or down.

Beat mode: beatbox ("boom" kick, "pff" snare, "ts" hi-hat) to play and record drums. Use Train my sounds if it mixes them up.

✨ Build a song from my hum finds the key, adds chords, bass and drums around your melody.

📱 On a phone

Rotate your phone sideways for Stage mode: a big multi-touch keyboard with Record, Play, instrument, octave, pedal and Hum. On a computer, ⛶ STAGE does the same.

Tip: "Add to Home Screen" makes it a full-screen app. On iPhone, sound plays even with the silent switch on.

Playing

Default computer keys: A–' white keys, WE TYU OP black keys.

Z/X octave · C/V velocity · hold Space for sustain.

Every key can be changed under ⌨ MAP (bottom bar), including a two-row piano layout and MIDI-learn for knobs and pads.

Mouse: click lower on a key to play louder; drag across keys for glissando.

Chord plays a full chord from one key. ARP turns held notes into an arpeggio synced to the tempo. SPLIT sends the left hand to another track (e.g. bass).

Recording

Enter play/pause · R record · M metronome · Home to start · Ctrl+Z undo · Ctrl+S save.

Record goes into the selected track. Arm (●) more tracks to record into several at once.

Microphone: add an audio track (+ 🎤), enable the microphone, arm the audio track and press Record. Use headphones so the mic doesn't pick up the playback. If recordings sit slightly late, adjust Latency fix.

Tracks tab: the multitrack view with volume, pan, mute/solo and audio clips you can drag.

Writing & exporting

Sheet Music writes what you play onto a grand staff with chord symbols, dynamics, pedal marks and lyrics. Choose Detect triplets or Swing 8ths under Feel.

✨ Songwriter: brief, inspiration-track analysis, structure and chords, lyrics, a one-click arranger and an AI co-writer (needs your Anthropic API key).

File menu: export MP3/WAV/MIDI, sheet music as PDF/PNG/SVG/MusicXML, and save or open projects.
